SS denibbing question

How are you guys treating nibs in single stage, especially if they fall into it on the first coat? Because what happens is when you denib you now have a small pinhole all the way down to the primer where the nib was removed. It would seem to me to spray to coats, denib with 1500 or 2000 (whatever my TDS says I can sand with) and then spray subsequent coats.

Not as ideal for me as I'd like to be able to get all the coats done in a single session. For this particular project, I was just going to do 3 coats and a cut and buff.

Second question--for panels that aren't going to be cut (think small filler panels or a mirror) and just denibbed, what's the highest grit you've found is still adequate for denibbing? Will 3000 trizact take them out?
