I'd like to get some rolls 1000 and 1500 psa paper but there's not a lot of choices out there. I see Finish Focus carries this brand and I was wondering if it's any good or can someone offer a better option? thanks.

well there is a reason there is not alot out there. anything that fine and you will have to do it wet. dry just wont cut and load up. wet and psa really dont work well together. it wont stick to a block unless its completely dry so in the end your really left with just regular plain wet/dry paper that you wrap around a block. i dont know anything about that line that they carry.

There’s also this. Price is fairly high but it has waterproof adhesive.

To add to what Jim said, once you are in the 1000 grit + papers IMO there is no need for using a block longer than 11", which is the length of a standard wet dry sheet. You can block urethane wave out easily with standard wet dry paper. At the 1000 grit level and up I just sand in straight lines (back and forth). I don't really see the need to use 1000 or 1500 grit paper on a long block.

I know this is black diamond country, but the linear block guys have some good youtube videos showing their paper and blocks in action, and it really gives you a good perspective of why acrylic blocks are important when trying to achieve a flat finish.

"Black Diamond Country." That made my day! Colten Davidson is the "Linear Guy" and I agree, he does have some good videos, particularly making the case for acrylic/polycarbonate blocks.
