I don't really know what I was thinking when I was painting the inside of the trunk of the 1967 Mustang, original Ford Interior Red, I sprayed the trunk hinges at the same time. Getting ready to put some things back on the car and I realized the trunk hinges should be the body color haha. Rookie mistake. So I have 2 coats of base and 2 coats of clear on the hinges. Id rather not completely strip down to bare metal and start over, could I just scuff the clear with a maroon or grey Scotchbrite pad and shoot my base clear again?

You should be fine with a red or grey scotchbrite pad. No need to strip paint off to bare metal
