Guys, not going to get into what happened . I need to make a repair to my hood that is in base coat. After the repair I was going to respray the whole hood with 2 coats of unreduced epoxy. My question if I wet sand the base with 320 will the epoxy adhere properly?

If solid color I usually wetsand with 400 reduced coat of epoxy for sealer. 20 percent reduced let flash overnight denib then start spraying base

Thanks, my reason for unreduced epoxy is I plan to block it. My hood is fiberglass and found some minor low spots that can be fixed with a couple of coats of unreduced epoxy.

I would put Atleast 3 coats of epoxy if your going to block it

It's not typical to get a panel all the way into basecoat and then discover it needs more bodywork. If it was mine to do, I would remove the basecoat at least in the areas that need fixing. If the whole panel needs re-priming, then all the basecoat should come off. There's no sense in introducing an extra weak link into the job, that basecoat serves no purpose now except to compromise the strength of the coating system.

Just an update and thanks for all your guidance. Hood got sprayed 2 weeks ago and gave it 1 week in sun and did the cut and buff
