White specs in Slick Sand

Every time I have sprayed Slick Sand I get these white specs. They seem to sand out just fine, but I was wondering if you guys get them to, or if its something I'm doing?

Thanks Russ

Most likely just titanium out of suspension from factory or from not mixing good on your end. No harm done as color is for color only and has no other purpose.

Ok thanks Barry. I thought it could be improperly mixed, so the second batch I really mixed it well, but still got some. Might be time for me to invest in a shaker.

I shake and stir mine and still see it occasionally, I have not had any problems arise from it that I have been informed of though.

Thanks Kelly. I guess it's normal to get a few of them.

i extended a mixing tool from an old mixer . using it on a drill mixes the high solids better than shaking .works good on filler too . i had some vpa that had settled bad. even shaking it did little. couple of min with the drill and it was good as new.

Call me crazy, but I send everything that goes into a spray gun through some kind of strainer, even poly primer. It takes a little longer, and sometimes the strainer gets clogged and you have to transfer the stuck primer into a fresh strainer, but then there is never any question of whether there are chunks of un-catalyzed material on the panel, or anything that could clog up the gun. My 2 cents.

I always strain mine, even slick sand (which is why I think maybe the tiny white specs I see are tiny), but still get them occasionally.

Thanks guys. I will have to find some better strainers. The ones I have work great for everything except the poly.
