Please explain, thx :)

A few more pictures, chrome grill was pretty beat, not chrome anymore its painted/ epoxied.

My post and my pictures got mixed up..looked good in the preview.

a little more progress

here are some recent photos of the truck ..now at the stage of making sure all body lines are good .and all the panels line up right. i replaced the cab mounts and had to pie cut and adjust one of the body mount tabs on the frame because the cab was leaning so badly. all body mounts have been replaced to ensure the cab will stay in allingment. hood fit at cowl is tight and the lower cowl to hood fit is a little big ,so i will have to shim the front of the cab up to get everything just right. all parts are spi epoxy and ready for filler. Once it all fits I should start making alot more progress. I am very happy with all of the spi products.2012-08-29_14-53-36_525.jpg

Seven nights a week for about 5 months....there was a pretty steep learning curve on the metal finishing.(though i have welded for about ten years you never stop learning).it seems like there is only so much adjustment in these old fords...then you really need to look for what is causing the problem in the first place.uni-bit is not always the answer.i really have no set schedule for this truck (this lifetime is good) my father in law is a really great guy and friend, and deserves something nice. I have my 50 ford tudor waiting in line...so if it's not this one its another project. Im not much of a t.v. guy.

my 54 is beat all to pieces . i'm going to do the mud magic on it. just dont have the time to put into it and it will be a daily driver for me . i've built it with pieces setting around . hood is so bad i am putting a low prostock scoop on it to hide the center. looks like it has had a carb fire and homer took a hammer to it . :(

Ryan, your father in law is a lucky man, and it sounds as if he is a great guy too!
Project is coming along nicely, keep the updates coming.

more progress

most of the cab is dialed in pretty good...hood and fenders fitting after bending ,shimming ,pulling, prying, swearing, repeat steps 1-5.
smeared filler...and now sprayed 2k ...letting it dry up , guide coating and then first round primer blocking.
I also posted a couple pictures of a simple door jig that is really very handy.2012-09-20_19-31-40_643.jpg

One more round of blocking...then doors hood fenders get a seal coat of epoxy.

Then a bunch of chassis work ( cab is ready for final blocking)
Motor/trans swap
