I just watched an episode of Shorty’s. They did a 59 same colour as yours. Hydraulics the works.Cool car as they say it’s “bad ass”.

Got this vanity plate off ebay. Along with the green led safety topper. Just an accessory, got the texas plate at an Arizona car show. Probably the only one they sold that day, but that's OK. "Don't mess with Texas "

Alright exhaust is done. I bought a magnaflow kit for 61-64. But 58-60 frames are very similar. So maybe I could make it work. Kit used to be 550 5yrs ago. Now it's $1000. I really didn't want to take it anywhere. So, backyard hackin it is. The most complicated pieces were from header collectors to the pipes. It's a funky angle for sure..I bought breakfast for my 2 friends and some beers and we got it done in 6 hours. We utilized the body mount bolts to hang it. It's done, I'm happy. And it was fun. Sounds good. Stay tuned.

More. We had to use a little section of old exhaust that had been chrome plated a couple years back. Other than that, the kit worked pretty good.

To answer Don.

It clears just fine with reverse off set wheels. In my experience, with a narrowed rear end, if i put stock size wheels and tires on the car, the tires will rub the exhaust in the rear. Reverse wheels really make it feasible to run exhaust out back and still lay on the ground.

Put the tail pipes on.. weird they would offer a bolt on clamp kit that needs the tail pipes welded...this is the 3rd time I've used this kit, this time the mufflers weren't polished. Circling the drain on quality...

Was a good day yesterday!! The 60 moves on its own power there will be no more pushing around in the shop! It needed 2 more quarts of transmission fluid for a total of about 12 quarts, which is crazy to me. Didn't go far. Just back and forth down the street a few times.
.mainly to get it up to temp and check for leaks. No leaks so drained the water and added coolant. Still idles a little high in park but I did get it to shift into 3rd. Moved it into the house garage where it's a little more of a controlled environment. Still need to cut n buff the front clip and doors. I forgot how it looked in the sun so I had to wash it! There's still a bunch of work to do on it but I met my deadline of driving the car on my birthday which is today!!

Happy Birthday and great timing on your part.

My Birthday is next week but my hooptie will not be ready to rumble for another Birthday or 2.

And that Impala is one fine ride, congrats.
