Rusty Gillis
This is what we started with a few years ago. It spent most of it's life in Arizona and even was Drag Raced for awhile. Not sure how it got this bullet hole that Brian repaired.
Yes and the screws removed and holes welded.Tell me a little more about the attaching of the rear quarter panel. Is that a lap weld held with screws and then welded? Thanks. Your work always amazes me.
All we do is spray or brush in SPI epoxy. As you can see what Ford did doesn't work.Rusty do you replace any of the foam/caulking that Ford put in this area? Or is it just another one of FoMOCo's so called better ideas. It did seem to protect the rocker panel, but at the expense of the inner and outer quarter panels. Thoughts???

I never put that crap back in, I remove all reminants of it and forget it was ever in there. All we do is spray or brush in SPI epoxy. As you can see what Ford did doesn't work.
Do you put a flange on the original metal? Is there anything you do to keep moisture from getting between the 2 metals panels (trunk side) or is that a non issue? ThanksYes and the screws removed and holes welded.
No flange. Back side has been epoxy primed before welding. Welded area is usually gone over with duraglass. Body work was also done on the back side inside the trunk.Do you put a flange on the original metal? Is there anything you do to keep moisture from getting between the 2 metals panels (trunk side) or is that a non issue? Thanks
That's what Ford calls their red.Maybe I missed it the explanation but Candy Apple Red?
So there's no actual candy in it then? That's what Ford calls their red.
Just a name like Mopar's Slime Green there is no slime in it!!So there's no actual candy in it then?
The reason I asked is that I had a '68 Candy Apple Mustang that I restored in the late 80s. Back then I knew nothing about properly painting a car. I think the paint I bought was Centari Enamel, so reading the title made me wonder if I used the wrong stuff.
