I’ve got some more spots to adjust but steadily making progress. I’m hoping to start the body work within the next few weeks. I’m going to have tons of questions moving forward because I’ve never done this before. I’m also going to attempt to paint it myself

Just found your build.....LOVE IT! Did I see this as your first? This car would look great in code V2, Hemi Orange with the black strobe stripes! Watching!

I'm like what you're doing. Body panel gaps and body panel to panel being flush make or break the looks of a vehicle. A vehicle can have terrible looking paint but, it'll look like a solid vehicle if the body panel gaps and panel to panel alignment look good.

Keep up the good work, it's all going to payoff in the end.

Thank you everyone!

I’m going to keep it the factory color - GY8 Gold Leaf Metallic. It will also have the strobe stripe (black), that’s original too. I was seriously considering going with Dodge’s Toxic Orange that was on the late model Challengers.

I think you're smart to keep it in the OEM color and Gold Leaf contrasted with those black strobe stripes is awesome. Keep us posted.

I haven't read all your replies so I don't know if your car is a factory original Big Block car? If so, I'd paint it the original factory color.

If not a Big Block car, I'd paint it Toxic Orange with the Black stripe. It'll get more looks, which in turn should bring more money when selling.
It’s a factory BB (383). I’m going to keep it GY8. I think it’s a very cool color. It looks different depending on the light - sometimes greenish, sometimes black overtones.

Speaking of paint, does anyone have experience with Wanda paint?
I have used it before and it's good paint. I just prefer base that mixes 1:1 instead of 2:1. It gives me two gallons of sprayable as opposed to 6 qts.
Right now I use Automotive Art's Motobase LV and can say that it sprays and covers great.

This is Wanda base coat and SPI Clear on a 1967 Jeep CJ5 as sprayed with no buffing.

As said in the past I use Wanda base on 70 % of my collision repairs mostly newer Toyotas and Hondas It's a polyeyester base like RM Diamont. Very good results.

You're making good progress in the right direction. It's looking good.

Keep up the good work.
