2K high build primer

O

Olstyle

Could not find an answer to my question. Do I need to put a sealer on top of the 2K high build primer? The tech sheet for regular 2K says no sealer needed. But the tech sheet for the 2K high build primer does not say.

Thanks
Guy

No sealer needed but I always spray a reduced coat of epoxy as a sealer just to lock everything down and give me a consistent color to paint over. Plus the sealer gives you a good idea of how the finished job will look so if anything isn't right there is still time to fix it.

I agree with Coronet on all counts. I think "no sealer needed" is aimed more towards people doing collision work.

That's pretty much what I was thinking too guy's. After block sanding the 2K high build, it looks nice and even. Just a few very minor low spots. I will spray one more time and sand and see how it looks then.

Thanks

Oh ya it is ;)

I use a different color of epoxy for guide coat reduced 1:1:1. Also, you can check your work with that shiny epoxy. I always find more blocking than I can see with the shine though.

I use the cheapest black lacquer rattle can I can find for guide coat.
