2K question

I received a gallon on regular SPI 2K and quart of activator. I want to spray a few little things for my car now (little practicing if you will) but wont be able to spray entire car for about another month or so. Here's the question......am I okay if i open those up now to use (probably need only 1/2 quart if that) then seal em up best I can to use the rest later. Or will i be better off just waiting?? Am I setting myself up for problems later with that gallon after I have opened it once? Same with the activator?

Thanks,

Josh

If it's really only going to be a month, you'll be fine. If it's going to be a year, you might want to buy a quart kit to practice with.

Thanks! Yes hoping in a couple weeks to actually have the car back from the body shop.

buy a can of Bloxygen and fill your partial containers with it, they will last waaaaaay longer .

It's an inert gas that heavier than oxygen. It forces the oxygen out of the can.

I want to try it as a preservative for beer in a growler.

ive had a gallon of evercoat G2 for a few years opened once...think it will go bad?

I have used 2k and activator that is over 6 months old without any problems. I am careful to immediately close up the cans tight after each pour and never leave a can sitting open on the bench even for a minute or two.
Be sure to check activators for seeding before use but I have not had any problems to date.

I've had dead activator with no signs of seeding, if in doubt you can always mix up a small amount and do a test.
