2K questions

Is there a critical temp for regular 2K like there is for Epoxy, or is it a little more forgiving? Also, is it ok to flush the cup and gun with reducer between coats? And if a coat is finished and there is still primer in the cup, does it go in the trash, or can it sit for a little bit and get stirred up again prior to putting it back in the cup to be sprayed? Thanks.

Pot life on 2K primer, although longer at 70Degrees, always figure 60 minutes to be safe, nothing like the epoxy.

Temp wise, I spray a front end one time at 45 degrees, next day it was 60 and sanded the primer and painted. Much more forgiving then epoxy.

Does metal and ambient temp at spray time effect the adhesion and longevity of the 2k/epoxy, the cure time, or both? How soon after applying a coat of epoxy can 2k be sprayed if temps are in the 70's?

2K, will cure but just be slower and as long as flash times are followed, no harm done.

Epoxy is nothing to screw with period, as you can destroy it, in an heartbeat and so goes the job.

Last question...How soon after applying epoxy can 2k be sprayed (temps in the 70's)? Thanks for all the info.

The next day would be best depending on whether the epoxy has seen sufficient temp.!

Sprayed areas of sand through first, then went back and did a complete coat on the leading edge of the doors, front fenders, and hood. Going to spray 2k tonight. The rest of the body was covered with 2k a couple months ago after initial body work was done. Does 2K have to be roughed up to recoat if it hasn't been sanded (since I will be "blending" the fronts of the doors).
