3m Marson Platinum Plus filler vs Evercoat Rage Ultra

I've been thinking of trying 3m Marson Platinum Plus as I've noticed on some of the high end builders on TV seem to be using it. But I do value some of the opinions on this forum. I wonder if Barry will ever dip into the filler market.

I've been using the plus for a decade. Probably three times in that span I tried a can of Platinum but always go back to the plus. I like how it sands.
Their might be something better out there but I'm not experimenting on fillers much anymore. To expensive to throw away and I'll be mad at myself everytime I have to use up a gallon of something else.

I have been using the Marson Platinum (not the plus) for a number of years now. Not long ago I thought I would give the Golden Extra a try - bad move and I ended up throwing away 1/2 a can of it.
Do you guys notice a big difference between the regular Platinum and the Plus?

Rage Ultra is the best I've ever used. Lot of the TV stuff is product placement by the various companies.

I guess I got upset with Evercoat because their prices are out of sight. That and their premium fillers seem on the runny side to me, they don't stay put for me when tooling in a body line. I think that when your product is even more expensive than 3M's premium product, you've lost touch with reality. But apparently enough people still pay the price.

same here crash. hate the plus but love the regular platinum. it sands much nicer. much harder to find though. most suppliers just seem to stock the plus. on the other side, the plus is the only filler that you can use under powdercoating. its the only one i know of that will withstand the heat and not outgas.

We get it in the Evercoat Edge product line. Their "Edge Premium" is the same as Rage Ultra but less expensive. Think its around $44-$45 for the "gallon" can, versus around $60 for Ultra. The "runny" aspect doesn't really bother me too much but I kow what you are saying. My experience with it is it pretty much eliminates glaze if you apply it carefully and I just love how easy it sands. I've noticed a difference in how quickly I can get a worked area to primer with it.
