69 Mustang Mach 1 Black Out Hood Paint

Friends, first post here so forgive me if I've posted this in the wrong forum. I have a 69 Mustang Mach 1 that I am restoring. If you are familiar with these cars, you know they have a black out hood treatment. Now, while I wish to duplicate the correct dimensions, I am wanting something a little different than the paint that came from the factory. This past summer, I attended a Mustang Shelby meet and noted a 69 Mach 1 there. That car had deep rich matte black eggshell textured paint applied to the hood. To my eyes, it was absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately, I had to leave before the owner showed back up so I was not able to inquire about the paint. I’m hoping someone might advise on this? Also, I would like to be able to clean the black paint and not have to worry about wax application ruining it. Anybody?

Thanks,
John

Don't know about eggshell texture, but I do know you can easily achieve the perfect matte black with SPI Matte Black, Barry made it Larry proof for ease of use !
Here is an example someone posted of the product:

Eggshell finish - copied from Tech sheet
Matte Black Single Stage
06/2013
Product: Paint gun tip: 1.4
2201-1 Matte Black

Mixing:
4:1 - 6:1 or 8:1 with any of the following activators:
2102-4 Medium
2103-4 Slow
2104-4 Very Slow

Precaution: the flattener will settle in the bottom of the can so make sure you spend the proper amount time with the paint stick to mix the product very well or you will ruin the gallon. Do not use fast activator or urethane reducer in this black. With a 4:1 mix you will end up with an egg shell finish with 3-5% gloss. With a 6:1 mix you will have a nice flat black with about 1% gloss (this is the most popular choice). With 8:1 mix you will have black with zero shine leaning to a slight gray scale but its only noticeable if painted on a panel next to the other mix ratios of Matte Black. SPRAY TEST PANELS FIRST so you choose the right mixing ratio for your application. Actual flatness may not start showing up for an hour or two after you spray the Matte Black and total flattening results will occur in 6-12 hours so it’s always very important to do a sample spray out and view the results the next morning.
