and then the power went out

So, I had just finished the 1st coat of universal clear. Shut off the fan, stepped out of the booth and started the timer. Five minutes in and the title of the post happened. This was at about 4pm. Called city light and they said it "should" be back on by 11pm. I cleaned the gun in the dark, then went home. That was about 17 hours ago, how should I proceed?
Thanx

So what is the non-sanding recoat window of Universal, anyway? I seem to remember 24 hours, but did not want to say because I was not sure.

Andy told me that the window is officially 24 hrs. But you can fudge it to 48....................

Thanks for the help today Andy!!

Had that happen to me twice, my technique.. flash light and go.. lmao. both jobs turned out great but luckily they were not overall's, one was a full side the other was just a few panels, interesting painting with a flash light and no fan.

Sounds like painting in the garage at my old place, only the power wasn't ever out. Extension cords run from the house with only a few florescent lights wired to the rafters, lol. Carry around a trouble light while painting, roll outside to look over base, push back in and clear and hope you got everything while guess painting (kinda like spraying a bright white when I first started) Luckily haven't had power go out in the middle of a paint job yet, but had enough other sheet happen.

Had the power go out recently here. Waited last minute to do taxes, was the deadline and filling them out online. Power goes out and I lose everything. Luckily the power went back on after 3 or so hours, but then had no internet because cable was still out, had only online forms and instructions to go by and fill out. Call up cablevision, guy can barely speak english and couldn't figure out how to get things going again. Says can have a tech out in three days, meanwhile blowing through minutes on my cell during this long call. Hey buddy, a tech fixing in three days, that isn't going to work. Try to get someone local to talk to and after cursing he trys transfering me, and I am cut off. Cable finally came on a few hours later. If you could only speak to someone local who knows English anymore. I suspected they were having a power outage as I had, If only could have spoken to someone local, could have found that out. Cable vision sucks.

Funny you should mention the bright white, I put a sag in a bedside job today, Dodge PW7 white. I hate painting white.

I've put my share of sags in white over the years Crash. Its so tough to see how it laying out and just get snowblinded after staring at it long enough. Remember a white complete once, I think every dang panel had runs. Turned out real nice in the end and guy was really happy, but boy was that ever a sheetload of work cutting and buffing that all out.

Doesn't bother me quite as much shooting it anymore, but use to really dred it when I was starting out. I don't paint real often anymore, and haven't really gotten much white doing side jobs, so its been awhile since I shot it, at least as far as a complete.

I'd love to see the Volvo he's painting. I'm an old Volvo enthusiast! (Pre 1993)

'67 122 Amazon made into a tudor by cutting up a tudor sedan and grafting the whole front sheet metal to the wagon. Powered by a S/C 3.8 liter V6 out of a '98 Grand Prix GTP, that's a FWD engine I turned 90* to run RWD through a T5 to a Jag IRS.

WOW, that's crazy wild what you've done to that body. You should start a new thread just showing (if you have pics) of the process. That's one of the more adventurous rebuilds of an amazon wagon I've ever seen. I have a 68 wagon that's a basket case, haven't seen the car in 15 years so not sure what's left of it, it needs total overhaul top to bottom.

I'd love to see more pics. Hosting on photobucket makes it easy to see a lot of good high re/larger pics on forum.

Nice work! Volvo could have done that instead of the P1800 wagon and I bet it would have been more popular.
