Good evening,
I'm working on a rotisserie restoration. I've sprayed the red oxide epoxy on the floor pans mixed 1:1 and it worked great. It worked so great that i ordered another gallon plus the proper reducer to use as a sealer before basecoat. Basecoat and clear is about a week away. All panels are in 400 grit. I am going to be using the grey epoxy to sealer the deal and will be spraying a shop line basecoat, (silver blue, metallic) and then the SPI universal high solid clear. (Good stuff). My question is this. Will the epoxy cover the break through in this fender. Or does the fender need another round of 2k primer? (4th time) the fender feels flat but has some slight break through. Judging by the way the unreduced epoxy coated my floor pans I'm guessing yes. But this is my first time spraying reduced epoxy as a sealer. And first time spraying any form of sealer for that matter. This is the 3rd full frame off paint job I am attempting. Thank you for your time and response.
