I ended up buying the Sata Vision 2000 and just received it today. I’m going to have to change up some of my air line plumbing.
I have a desiccant filter and a motor guard m-60 filter also. From what I understand I’m going to have to change up my filter system to remove the desiccant filter from my fresh air line. But I want to keep the desiccant for my paint hose. Haven’t decided what I’m going to do yet.
I’m running a hobby air pump too for a supplied air mask. I use the tyvec hood for media blasting and the full face mask for painting. The hobby air is an oil-less compressor, no need to filter the air. Provides more than enough volume of air, I actually have to turn it down a bit…it dries my sinuses out if too high. The extra hose sucks but I deal with it.
Originally I bought the SAS supplied air mask with belt charcoal filter to use the same hose as the gun, but it did not work correctly. No matter how I adjusted the regulators the air stream was weak. I could smell the epoxy and see black around my nose so I knew it was getting in, and the mask would fog on the inside. I called SAS to troubleshoot and the conversation ended abruptly when I answered their first question…where did you buy it…Amazon. The guy goes…oh there’s your problem, we don’t sell on Amazon, it’s a shitty knockoff. It was a C note cheaper than anywhere else I looked. They couldn’t help me. And it was out of the time to do a return… this was a couple of years ago. I left feedback on there warning anyone else looking, and now I see it is not on there anymore. I kept the supplied mask and it seems to work well with the hobby air.
Lesson learned…don’t be cheap or buy PPE that your life depends on off of Amazon. F$@?ing scam artists. I wish I could dip them all in SPI epoxy and then ground up fiberglass, and display them on the town common! lol
