Base coat gun suggestions

Will a DV1 base gun shoot clear? Or do you have to spend twice for the DV1 clear gun and base gun?
I have a dv1 clear gun. My understanding is the air cap is the main difference. I personally do not like how it sprays. I turn the fan in 1 1/4 turns to make it spray fast.

Any gun can spray base and clear, the hvlp are slow at clear and clear guns are fast at base.

yep, on dv1 clear i closed fan as well. with a full open fan you will get strong 8 pattern

love my dv1 basecoat gun have shot some very difficult colors with it in solvent borne makes it pretty effortless. and i use a sata 5500 1.2 i rp for clear best clear gun for my style ive ever come across like it much better than my ws400. have had iwata ls400 base gun too was [retty good just more involving gun setup seemed to be picky. lph400 with an orange cap isnt a bad choice i use mine for epoxy sealer

the dv1 basecoat gun is by far the easiest spray gun to spray any color with. however it’s a real slow poke when it comes to clear. also after a couple months the seals started to wear out and started to leak air. i had to warranty the gun and they gave me a refund. (Most likely due from user care. I use lacquer thinner and brake clean to clean my guns.) I now have a Sata 5500 HVLP 1.3O and it sprays pretty well. Just a little less user friendly. 5000 RP 1.2 for clear; no complaints at all .
