Bed Liner product question

Had some questions regarding the bed liner product - I'm still trying to figure out the best way to paint the floorboards/unibody of my Mustang. A lot of it is in nice shape (original paint) some light surface rust spots here and there, I do want to treat all the seams. I dont want to grind the entire bottom of the car if its not necessary. Here are my questions regarding the bed liner product: Smell.. how bad is it. Dont want to kill everyone in the house (rooms over my garage) can I roll it on - does it come out nice applied that way? I realize the smell is still there. How is the product thinned when applied with a roller - same as spraying? If I do spray, what is the pressure at the undercoat gun? How will the bed liner hold up in the areas where the exhaust system runs? I read the bed liner product can be tinted? to what degree? I appreciate the help - getting this part of the car painted has been my biggest challenge so far.. Thanks again!

Do you spray other products in your garage? Like any paint product, you will need a respirator and forced air ventilation. I just spray bed liner outside most of the time because it is more convenient for me. A little dirt or a few bugs isn't much of a concern with bed liner IMO. If you get a bumble bee or something, pick it out with tweezers and spray a little more on that spot.

I have sprayed other paint products, but nothing like bed liner. I was waiting to hear how it rolled for others.. Spraying on the ground might prove tricky. I do use much caution using products in my garage - not only for the safety of my home, but the safety of my family. Thanks!

I haven't rolled it but my experience spraying it tells me it would cure to quick to apply with a roller unless you mixed small amounts and then again I bet there would be waste. I doubt there is much iso's in the air compared to spraying a gallon of clear-probably less, definitely less solvent. Good airflow is key-get those fumes out.

Spraying on the ground would definitely be a pain but you could do it. Raise the car up as high as possible and support it well, attach a suction hose to the gun and pour the bedliner into a gallon jug so the gun will spray upside down. Or you could rig up a pressure pot style setup.

Think I'll work on spraying it (maybe get it flat bedded to my friends body shop). Whats the cure time on this product? Thinking its sets pretty quick? Just wondering.. I appreciate all the advice!

If you spray it in your garage you will have bedliner over spray on the floor and other places you don't want it. I won't spray bedliner in my booth anymore since having it fall off the walls or ceiling months later while painting and clearing other cars. I would spray it outside instead of in your garage.

Strum,

For the 2.2 tip I believe I just called HF support directly. I will check my receipts tonight.

What made me decide to used it is I am frugal so I figured the HF gun works for the HB why not try it
for the Bed Liner. I did however had to reduce the Bed liner down but I don't recall how much reducer I had used.

It was mention to me (I am not sure who did) that it can be reduced a good amount compared to Paints or primers.
