Best method for priming in stages

Hello all,

I plan on starting some rust repair on my 93 Mustang and wanted some advice. What is the best method for making spot repairs and working in stages? I will eventually be stripping all paint to bare metal and coating the entire car in black epoxy, but do I leave repaired areas in 2 coats of epoxy? Epoxy and primer? Epoxy, primer, epoxy sealer? Thanks for any advice, love the site!

I assume you will be driving the vehicle as you continue to work on different areas. Epoxy is definitely the best protection you can get. Make sure to use two coats over any metal or filler before driving the car. I wouldn't be concerned about driving the car for a short time with 2k primer over the epoxy if that is what you are asking.

Thanks for the reply, yes I will be driving it some, only drive it about 3k miles a year. There are a few spots that I want to hit first before I do the whole car, like the hood and lower quarter panel patches.
