Black SS

I have a black car to paint - have only painted SS on insignificant projects - I understand the process is like painting clear coat - question ; having never done one for a show car, should I just stick with Clear Coat that I’m familiar with ? Or is the difference that big a deal ? - if I go SS , how much should I plan on ? Usually I will use a full gallon of universal clear on a car so maybe since SS is 4:1 plan on 2 gallons ? It’s a 70 Monte Carlo ( for size reference). - I’ve read where you shoot 3 coats- block - 2-3 more coats and buff - correct ?

If I weren't doing rally stripes, I'd be all in for doing mine in SS.
Hoping to get a chance to do a car in it some day.

Did you see the Trans AM, done in SPI black SS? The one that just sold for $155K...
