Blend questions

The top of this bed I painted 4 months ago got some minor damage..owner ask me to fix it.i have original base and was cleared with UC. I think I can handle the paint blend but not sure about clear...would you spot clear or clear whole bedside...I have never done a blend or offered to but this is for a all over I did...not much choice..its currently in spi epoxy on damaged area...thx

It could be blended down to that top body line, but since it takes more time to do a good blend, I too would just re-clear the panel. Far more predictable final outcome then blending. But if you are wanting to learn how to blend and you have the time, give it a try. At worst you will need to let it dry and reshot.
 
All my years of collision I almost never "blended" clear. You have an edge when blending clear that will eventually fail. How it's normally done is to blend the color, clear the entire panel.
