Bruised my ego...

I was spraying a second coat of black epoxy on my Riv hood. First coat went well. In between coats I rinsed the gun out with a squirt of reducer. To flush the epoxy I usually turn the fan down all the way to reduce the spray. So I'm ready for the second coat, clear the reducer, pour the epoxy into the cup, check the fluid, double check the psi, walk over to the hood and start my first pass with a solid 1" round stream of epoxy... Given my cat like reflexes, I have an 8" pass I get to sand out... After resetting the fan the rest of the epoxy went on well. I keep hearing a voice in my head "your not an idiot, everybody has done this..."

While still trying to convince myself I'm not stupid, I rinsed the gun out, mixed up some slicksand, changed to a 2.0 fluid tip, poured the the poly in the cup, walked over to the trunk lid and start spraying. Imagine the pattern the gun put out with the air nozzle sitting on the bench. After pulling my head out of my butt, I put on the air nozzle and finished spraying the slicksand, cleaned the gun and shut it down for the evening. What a jerk! About the only upside is it was getting sanded regardless.
