I'm with Jim on the skim of glaze. If you can see low spot or flaw after your prime you might as well wipe a skim over it.
I do this after my first round of blocking and I'm amazed that most of the time I block the skim right off. Bob's right that it fills a lot better than you think it will.
I usually have a quart of 2k filler on the shelf. I use it on some of the bike and tractor stuff to reduce costs. I used some this week and I personally don't like sanding it. Can't explain it but it seems so powdery and messy when blocked. I have a neighbor that likes the idea of Epoxy only but he hates sanding the epoxy so go figure.
