Building with epoxy?

I'm with Jim on the skim of glaze. If you can see low spot or flaw after your prime you might as well wipe a skim over it.

I do this after my first round of blocking and I'm amazed that most of the time I block the skim right off. Bob's right that it fills a lot better than you think it will.

I usually have a quart of 2k filler on the shelf. I use it on some of the bike and tractor stuff to reduce costs. I used some this week and I personally don't like sanding it. Can't explain it but it seems so powdery and messy when blocked. I have a neighbor that likes the idea of Epoxy only but he hates sanding the epoxy so go figure.

On the small section I played with a few weeks back I sprayed two coats and blocked all the way down after 24 hours. That was going off of the tech sheet before I got all of the awesome input here. It really did fill exceptionally well. I was left with really shallow low spots so I will bump those out a little more before shooting again. It sanded a little chalky, but I imagine fully cured epoxy will sand out differently. I don't mind sanding anything compared to the MDF I used to use daily to build speaker boxes. I will consider the glaze if it is needed (never used it before), but I'm shooting for epoxy only if possible.
