Can I do this with epoxy sealer?

That’s sanded. You can see the areas where it’s just starting to break through.

The reason you want to sand about 90% off is because you don’t want excessive mil build. This can cause a lot of problems later on down the road. You’re only wanting to fill the low areas.

You’re probably seeing so much epoxy breakthrough because your panel wasn’t truly blocked flat with epoxy. If it were there’d have been no point to using poly.

You might be over sanding as well. As soon as you start to see breakthrough you need to stop.

I believe I'm seeing more black epoxy for a couple of reasons.

1st...... I sprayed two coats of unreduced epoxy over a sanded flat panel before spraying the polyester.

2nd...... sprayed the polyester too thin.

When sanding the polyester, I didn't see any lows, only highs from the black epoxy.

After blocking out the fender and part of the door, I feel I'm on the right path to success. I've seen many block sanded panels that look like how mine does. I haven't really had my panels look like that except for the filler stages, up until now.

I believe once I spray unreduced epoxy over this and block out with 400, I'll be ready for sealer.

@MJM just thought I'd post a little positive motivation. Maybe not what you're going for, but very cool.

Interesting, I've never seen 2nd generation Barracuda set up as a Rally car, at least that's what I think it is. I've seen 1st and 3rd generation Barracuda Rally cars.

No side marker light so it's most likely a 1967 model year.

The 2nd generation Barracuda's are surprisingly lite weight cars from the factory. Going fron memory around 2,980# or something like that. Under 3,000# for sure.

I stripped mine down to a tick over 2,900#.

Thanks for sharing!
