Can I use 180?

Hello am I able to sand the edp coating on my panels with 180 grit paper on an interface padded DA and then go straight to epoxy??
 
Yes that will work just fine, scuff any nooks and crannies with a maroon scotch bright
 
Bob, would a maroon pad on a DA be an acceptible procedure ?
 
Heck ya that will work too, a 320-400 grit scratch in primer or paint is plenty of tooth for epoxy to grip.
 
Red pads are recommended by most manufacturers for the preparation of OE e-coated parts.

In years past, caution was necessary with aftermarket parts as some of the cheapest parts had primers that were not actual e-coat, but I haven't seen that for many years now.
