Cheap but effective gun cleaner

You can get wash thinner at your local jobber cheaper than the stuff in your link. If you go to an Axalta jobber you can get virgin wash thinner. Axalta 105. You can also get recycled wash thinner but it can sometimes have acid in it depending on the recycled source.Virgin is always better and safer.

I live in sequim WA
Think theres a sherwin williams store ---- just ask for "wash thinner" ??

If you do get generic non virgin wash thinner, never leave it in your gun. Rinse with something immediately like SPI 870. If it has acid in it, it will etch your cup and the gun internals. Not what you want, and you'll never get that (aluminum) cup clean again without scrubbing it. I only use virgin for this reason.

I have also bought 5 gallons of lacquer thinner at my local Ace Hardware for a decent price. Even better when I use my Ace Rewards discount cards they send me.
this one ?

work ok ?

Not sure what that means non-virgin (jokes asides)

Would sherwin williams stock "wash thinner" ? not sure what the distinction is... else mostly building supply around here ...... guess I could stop in an an auto paint repair shop .... but not sure they'd be too helpful depending luck of draw

Get it at a paint jobber, box store lacquer thinner is junk and more expensive IMO. Recylced wash thinner at my jobber is around $54 for 5 gallons. The virgin stuff is about $85 for 5 gallons. You can purchase a gallon of Axalta 105 for under $30. Thinner is always going to be better quality and cheaper at your paint jobber.

stay away from from the house paint sherwin williams. needs to be automotive. a regular home type sherwin will charge crazy money for stuff. those places will have stuff in small qty for the homeowner to buy like tape by the roll etc. they call me all the time trying to get my business. i asked for a pail of acetone one time and they looked at me like i had five heads. they said they could order it @ $250 a pail. i laughed an walked out. same with tape. 2" blue or green tape same thing. how much for a case? i said i need six cases. they handed me a 3 roll pack @ $45. they just dont get it. so you get the idea. the crown laq thinner in your link is going to be decent stuff. i get mine from keystone. its virgin and not recycled. just got 3 pails the other day and was $76 a pail. been using it for years and never an issue. i even wipe down out of mold fiberglass to get the release wax off. works great, consistent and dries clean.

i bought this pump. works good. i pump it from 5 gallon to 1qt metal can with lid. then from 1qt to my squirt bottle. the 1qt can is easier to manaage than a gallon can, or 5 gallon can
Tip for this type of pump, at the bottom of the pick-up tube, clamp a piece of stainless to the tube that extends an inch or two below the bottom of the tube. This way when you seem run out of thinner, you will still have a quart or two in reserve at the bottom of the 5 gallon can.
