Thanks Chris I have a couple of small areas not in the main squint test areas...Try solvent W&G remover first. Do not use SPI 700 or other alcohol/water based W&G removers. If that doesn't work, soapy water (Dawn) on a cloth and quickly wipe, followed by a warm water rinse. Concentration of Dawn similar to doing dishes. That should be fairly safe. If you have an inconspicuous area to test the dawn solution on I would do so. Don't think it will hurt anything but always good to test.
Will do........and here I thought I was the only one that has had to deal with fly poop while prepping the car for paint. The first time I found it I tried to clean it off with Sprayway glass cleaner. It did remove the solid part of the poop but still left a stain on the primer surface. Next I used SPI 710 W&G remover. That worked but, it took 2 or three application wipes with fresh W&G to completely remove the stain.
I have no clue how to remover it from basecoat. If you do find a way to remove it from basecoat, please share.
I'll let you know tomorrow as I will be running the Dawn dish soap with warm water and the glass cleaner on my test panel...I wonder if glass cleaner will work?
Sometimes we need to start from the beginning of an issue to fully understand the impact before looking at a solution.
