Cleaning process proir to clear

Guys, after you have applied base coat, I know some let the panel sit overnight. What a proper procedure of cleaning at this stage. I would think a simple tack off and compressed air is all that is needed. I know waterborne w/g remover can be tough on basecoat. I suppose you could use the solvent and wait about 30 minutes prior to spraying. Anyway, just wanted to ask what you guys do. Thanks

I may gently denib some dust specs with P1000 grit, if needed, and then gently wipe the whole surface with a puffed-up tack cloth. That's all I do.

Thanks Mike. That's what I was wondering

Be careful about denibbing. Depending on the color, metallic content, etc it will show like a sore thumb unless after you denib you spray another coat (sometimes more) of base. You shouldn't have to worry about using any type of cleaner, solvent or waterbourne. Just simple tack and your ready to go.

If I denib, the sanded spots get one more coat to fill scratches, and then one more coat over the whole area to even things out. This is with metallics, solids will probably need either one of the other, but not both coats. Just my 2 cents.
