Clear Only Gun?

Is it worth having a clear only gun as a hobbyist? I can see a reason for it in a production environment when painting cars all day. Reason I ask is I have a lph400 with the different air caps. Its a 1.3 gun. I was thinking about buying a 1.4 fluid tip and needle set. I guessing metallics is where you would have problems. I have dealt with this in powder coating as well.

I do have a problem with spray guns. I love trying them to see which ones I like. Its amazing the difference they all feel in my hand. I have a pretty large hand and although I have not sprayed the Iwata yet, it feels the best in my paw. One thing I have noticed on some guns is that the placement of the edge of the gun just under the trigger can have a big factor on how comfortable it is.

What do you think about the clear only gun. Worth it or not as a part timer?

Just get the 1.4 needle and nozzle set for lph400 you will be happy
