Clouds on my clear?

I shot 5 coats of Universal Clear.
Every stage; epoxy, 2K, epoxy sealer, base allowed to dry overnight, with recommended flash times between coats.
67 degrees, 45% RH.
I shot the clear Saturday, 4 days ago, with 30 minute flash between coats.
I covered it with Norton refinishing plastic for 1.5 days while I did the front half of the truck.
Clear looked great before I put the plastic on, like glass.
When I pulled the plastic, some areas
have cloudy splotches on the surface.
Here is a door:

I went through my cutting/buffing process on a section of the door:
1000 grit block, 1500-3000-8000 Trizac, then 3M 6094 polishing compound with black pad.
The clouds buffed out, but wondering if there is a problem and they will come back.

Thoughts?

NEVER cover freshly painted parts with plastic car cover. NEVER cover any painted areas with plastic car cover when the car or plastic has moisture on it or if it is humid. It will stain the finish like you see there even factory paint will do the same thing. With fresh painted parts I don't know the long term affects but for sure 1.5days is way too long to have covered.

Looks like overspray but you would have felt that with hand. Same thing happened on a car I had. Was painted a year prior. Covered it with plastic sheeting and it left a spot like that. I was thinking it was some sort of chemical like brake fluid on a moving blanket though?? It polished out without any sanding needed

I had a job a few years back that I covered the next day to paint the cab and it turned out as yours but mine was overspray that had gotten inside the plastic. Everything buffed out fine and the truck still looks good today, Experience is hard learned at times but is worth its weight in gold.

I've had that happen on plastic trim that I had covered while spraying, so I'd wager to say its overspray. happy all is fixed now!

Also, never let the plastic get wet when its sitting on the paint. I had an incident where I was painting a black Grand National. At the time I had a one car garage, so pushed the car out to paint some misc. pieces and when I opened the door to push the car back in I noticed it had poured out. When I pulled the plastic off the entire car looked like it had the marble effect on it....the car was all buffed and ready for final assembly :(

Pretty sure I went to bed drunk that night, lol

With plastic, less time covering is best, but like tape over fresh paint, NEVER leave on overnight.
Even factory paint, a little moisture will cause a chemical reaction and have seen many paint jobs destroyed by the plastic.
Thanks. Hopefully it will buff out and be fine. Lesson learned...
I need to move the truck outside so I can paint remaining parts and it will get rained on for sure.
How long should universal clear dry before ok to be in the rain?
