Color Ideas for Engine and Headers

I was searching some older posts where you guys were discussing different engine, manifold, and header paints/coatings and it got me to thinking :)

The car is a 66 Mustang Coupe, exterior will be SPI Black and everything else including the engine bay will be SPI black Epoxy (not sure how much I will flatten it). Pretty much everything on the car will be black (bumpers, trim, etc). But I thought it might be cool to have the engine block and headers be something other than black. The heads and intake will be aluminum, probably sheet metal valve covers not sure on color for those yet either.

I like the Cerakote Tungsten for the headers but not sure for the block.

What do you guys think? Everyone here does such awesome work and is really creative so I value your opinion.
 
Funny I am currently in the middle of the same predicament....
 
Aluminum paint would look good imo. I did mine with it I like how it came out, it doesnt look like rea laluminum looks more like a fine silver but it still accents the rest of the aluminum parts very nicely. hope this helps.
 
Thanks for your input! There will be a lot of aluminum on the top of the engine. I was thinking of leaving that au naturale :) I am leaning towards the Tungsten for the headers and possibly valve covers.

I was just thinking, did you paint the block the silver color?
 
Yes I painted the block that color. Could you post a picture of the engine I'd like to see it? Tungsten is a nice color.

I wish I could, nowhere near done yet :)
 
Ford blue looks good. Cast iron color or a little lighter looks good on a block if it has a descent amount of bling on top. If you want the headers high temp coated blue I know who can do it for you, or orange, white, grey, or black.
