Crazy idea I am considering...Barry need your input.

OK...I work outside and recently bought a full face mask respirator. Problem is in some lighting...angle of the sun and me in relation to that, there is glare on the inside of that mask that really cuts down on my visibility.

I talked to a window tint guy about putting a very light tint on it. I didn't have it with me so he said he wasn't sure if it could be done if the curve was to sharp...which it probably is.

I am thinking about mixing a VERY SMALL amount of maybe black or making a very light gray and mix it with some clear and spray the inside of the face shield.

Any thoughts, suggestions, ideas????

Working out in the sunlight is gonna bite you with pop sooner or later. I would not paint either side.

Not sure it would work well as, i think it would create a painting nightmare.

No matter what you put on the mast, if don't work, you destroyed it.

A polarizing filter is one of the best ways to cut reflected glare, and most sunglasses are polarized.

sunglasses break the seal of the full mask...yes I tried them. In certain lighting situations I cannot even use it.

Are you mostly doing car lot work?

That's all I do. I spent close to $150 on this mask and can't even use it. Glad I didn't but a fresh air system and then run into this problem. The mask is almost unusable as it is. I have some spray goggles maybe I'll try it on them first they are like $20 I think!!! Had the same problem with them only not as bad. And the protective film didn't want to stay in place!

BTW...I've been working in the sun for 13 years...I know how to avoid "pop"...LOL...Never paint any thing in the sun in the summer. Winter is no problem!

Window tint film will adhere to plastic but do not expect a lengthy life for it. The plastic off gases and causes bubbles to form between it and the film.

You can put a shield on the head gear that keeps the sun from shining into the mask. Something similar to what *****!****** welders do with their helmets to battle glare on the inside of the lens.

Thanks for all the input. I'll keep you guys posted as to what i do.

Is there a spectacle kit available for you mask? The 3M mask I use has a kit for glasses that consists of spectacle frames and a rig to attach it to the mask with adjustments.
The first lens I used years back were drug store cheaters that I sanded to fit myself. Now I need bifocals so I have the optition do it. Thinking the same think would work for you with the polarized sunglass lenses.

I have been remodeling my kitchen so been super busy. Yes there is a spectacle Kit...I'm gonna look into that.

You can look into industrial safety glasses. They are glasses with a rubber band and contour to your face, used them on the flight deck and could wear them with breathing equipment on ships.
