CS130 Alternator Wiring

Posting this in the "other" category hoping someone here can answer my question.
I am installing a EZ Wiring harness into a 1955 chevy truck. The engine is a 1984 350 stroked to 383 and has the serpentine belt drive assembly and a CS130 Alternator.
The directions say to run a bypass wire for any alternators over 80 amps so I did that but the directions are mute when it comes to wiring the alternator.
From my research I have discovered that the red wire from the alternator plug is looped back to the battery terminal on the alternator and the white wire runs to an ignition "on" terminal in the fuse box and is used to excite the alternator.
My questions are:
1. Do I need a resistor in the white wire line to the fuse box/ignition switch wire? Some say yes, some say no, some say 75 ohms others 500 ohms.
2. Can I run the output (large red) wire from the alternator through one side of the ampmeter gauge to the battery and the other side of the ampmeter gauge to the fuse box lead wire?

Hope I am explaining this right.

sorry, cant help, we just used a one wire alternator, but I am pretty sure the smaller wires are going a regulator of some sort. That is what is telling the alternator to either run the system or charge the battery. There has to be a regulator in there someplace or it would charge all the time and overcharge the battery.

cs130 should have a built in regulator?, isn't the white wire typically used for the light on the dash? The red wire that loops back to the output terminal excites the alternator and if it's set up this way it won't usually start charging till you blip the throttle to 1200 rpm?

Bob,
I have been reading a ton via internet searches. The majority say no resistor needed with idiot light but there are some who say you don't need the resistor anyway since it will kick on at the higher rpm.
My understanding is the resistor/idiot light prevent the alternator from causing he vehicle to keep running even when you turn the key off.
Thought maybe someone on here had firsthand experience with this situation or was an electrical system guru.
Thanks.

The guy from EZ Wiring where I purchased the harness gave me the answer.
A 5 watt 82 ohm resistor needs to be in the exciter line.
Thanks guys.

I put a multispark box in my Son's car and ended up having problems with the engine not shutting off, the cure was to put a resistor on the wire or just disconnect it. The car never had the problem with a points ignition or HEI.
