DAD-500 bead capacity..

Does anyone know the capacity of the DAD-500. I thought I had ordered a gallon of beads in the past....having a brain fart at the moment.

This is the replacement dessicant (pn DAD-1) for the DAD-500. Expensive. IIRC it's around 3 quarts or so. Not 100% on that though.

We have two at work and i have one at home.
The guys at work maintaine them but off top of my head it is about 2 quarts each.

The blue crystals turn pink with absorbed moisture and can be baked to recharge. Works good.
I previously pasted the wrong link, the link above is the color indicating type.
I don't know how to translate lbs to volume (quarts) but the bucket the 10lbs came in looks to be about 6 quarts.

Mine held 13 pounds of desiccant which was just shy of one and a half gallons. (These were the totals of the old desiccant I replaced.)

Zero moisture or oil contamination problems ever even in humid Texas weather. Had it seven years and never a problem. Paid around $450 for it.

just saw an ad pop up i think while i was on you tube. harbor freight is giving you 25% off any one item. not sure if that is still going on or applies to the drier but it worth a look.

i had a camair/devilbiss desiccant drier. it was basically useless here in the high humidity. it would be 1/4 full of water in a half a day. i would drain the beads out and a qt of water would come with them. so in reality the beads worked for maybe 15 minutes. refer driers are the only way to go. the dad unit is fine as a final drier after the refer, maybe in or near the booth.

I'm guessing it's because it's a Central Machinery item....said the code doesn't apply to the item in my cart and the dryer is the only item in my cart. One of these days there will be a coupon that works!
