Degreasing a truck frame

Howdy folks,
I'm new to the forum and also new to paint technology. My son and I have just bought some SPI epoxy primer and we are currently stipping the truck frame down to nothing to get ready to degrease and sand blast it. First, what should we use to degrease it that won't mess up the primer? Second, is there anything else other than soda blast media that we need to stay away from so as not to effect the priming of it? Thanks. Any proper step by step would be much appreciated also.

dawn soap or simple green are a good start . after blasting i soap it down and rinse well. blow dry then epoxy .
