Delfleet and paint lines with Universal Clear

It has been a while since I have been on here but I have finally found another excuse to try to paint. I last painted my 1967 International scout that I painted from the bare metal up with the help of this forum and Barry's great products. My new project is a fabric covered airplane. The airplane is not assembled completely but the major parts were painted from the factory with PPG Delfleet base and a PPG clear. I have two questions.
1. I want to paint a red stripe over the factory white base (delfleet) and PPg clear. I assume I should just use Delfeet to match the pre-existing paint (I understand it is pretty flexible) and then I can spray universal clear over it. My question is can I spray a red stripe over the factory base/clear and then universal clear over the red. How big of a paint line (from the layers of red and clear) can I expect? Airplanes are nowhere near as perfect as most cars, but will it be noticeable? I would sure hate to spray the entire wings with more coats of clear just to avoid what I assume would be a small paint line (plus the factory paint is really very nice).
2. Can I use paint other than Delfleet and get it to match? I previously used Prospray from chad and its covered very well- I need to spray over some fiberglass (engine cowling etc) and red is expensive! Should I just use Delfeet or can I use SPI or something else. Flexibility is key in this situation.

Thank you in advance- you guys continue to help dummies like me who are in over their heads!

We sold Maul aviation for years and they would apply our epoxy over the dope coating used on the new fabric.

At this point the process is done and you can treat that stripe just like you were doing any car and yes prospray would be perfect.

The delfleet was a redo because the plant that made these planes and had a second factory to refurbish always used Randolf colors until they went to Utech 200 system.

Not sure what they use now.

Barry,
Thanks for the quick reply. This is a kit that was partially assembled at the factory and has never flown. The paint codes I received from the factory are all delfleet with the exception of the clear. The reason I am worrried about the prospray is that the body and wings are already painted but I need to finish the doors and cowling. If I have the paint codes can I expect it to match perfectly? It would be pretty noticeable if they were different at all. Also, on the wings where the factory painted the white would I have a noticeable build up of paint if I sprayed 2-3 coats of red and 2-3 coats of clear? I would prefer to only spray what I have to and not have to re-clear the whole wings. Here is what it looks like now. https://picasaweb.google.com/112128124552044741749/Rans#5721235441546737026
