Let me put it this way I need more room and more brain cells:
Labor Day thats right almost 2 months ago, I am going to finally finish the beast. Got everything 3 coated with clear after a dusting of color and some touchup. Body is to one side and hood, mirrors, trunk, spoiler and handles all off and separate. have hood hanging on garage door.
The boss yells we have to go to the picnic, I do a fast clean up, shower and jump in the truck.
Drop the garage door and..............the hood is coming down I don't stop it in time. The door closes all the way.
I get out of the car and I look at the hood, no dents, no ruffles just a nice 6" long scratch in the clear and base down to the sealer. And I am po'd.
Well 2 months later I am getting ready to redo the hood. And I've sanded it back to the epoxy primer, on the section of the hood that was damaged. Now I have had issues in the past with repairs and the telegraphing or haloing of the "primed" area showing through. I plan to sand the rest of the hood down with 600 wet and then do ?
So that is where I am, any help would be appreciated.
Using RM Diamont metallic base and SPI Clear, very slow activator.
