Epoxy color

If one mixes white epoxy and black epoxy 50/50 would the resulting color be considered medium gray or something else????

Yes, I mix it all the time to get the shade I want for a sealer
undercoat just before baseing. It helps for the color coverage.
It doesn't take much black in the white to make a dark gray.
So mix small amounts first.

Any ratio of black to white is fine, as long as the resultant mixture is mixed 1:1 with activator. Like Jim says, the black is much stronger than the white, a 50:50 mix makes a pretty dark gray. Sometimes when putting epoxy under silvers or light metallics I will go as much as 15:1 white to black ratio, and it is still pretty gray looking.

havent tried it with spi yet, but with lesonal epoxy i mix gray and black together for the undercarriage sealer for late 60s/early 70's mopars. matches perfect to factory. really dark gray.

Thanks guys.... I mixed 9 oz white:1 Oz black:10 oz activator and the rest reducer....
