Epoxy on PVC pipe?

I've got a project where I want to paint standard white PVC pipe. I've got some SPI epoxy laying around and wondered if it would stick well. If so, what prep should be used on the pipe?

Thanks

Just prep the pvc like anything else, sand, w&g cleaner and prime.

It will stick. I've used SPI epoxy on pvc sheet material with good results. On projects using pvc pipe I have sprayed single stage urethane directly with no primer and it lasted fine. Epoxy has better adhesive quality than urethane IMO so it will be a better job with the epoxy primer. As mentioned prep and clean, make sure all gloss is gone.
PVC gets charged up with static electricity with all the wiping. Tack it off before priming but be prepared to scuff out lots of trash. The following coats go far better as far as the static is concerned.
