epoxy over vinyl

I am trying to do some custom work on a vinyl dash pad and what do you guys think would happen if i shot some epoxy on it after fixing a few small cracks and reshaping a hole cut into it for a radio.
 
I can't say I have any experience in this but my best guess is, if the vinyl was cleaned good, the epoxy will stick and it should have plenty of flex.

well, were gonna try it. what do you think would be the best way to try and get some kinda texture on it. low air pressure and a little distance?
