Epoxy Primer activator

First time using SPI products and when mixing the EP with activator the color of the activator was brackish like gas. Most activators I've used are clear and the EP did not lay down very well. Is this normal?

It's normal. The 700 W&G turns dark too.

Normal. Not laying down well is user error. Alot of variables in the equation

yes the color is normal. its a light amber color and as it ages it gets darker and darker but wont affect anything. many epoxy activators from west system resin to your avg 5 min epoxy glue will do this.

how it lays down depends on how you spray it. the spi epoxy is on the more difficult side to spray and have it look good. in most cases it doesnt really matter how it looks. its either getting sanded or sprayed over with a 2k primer anyway. spray it too heavy or wet and it will do some crazy stuff. spray the epoxy more like you would basecoat. thin med coats and dont spray close. if you try to get it to flow out like clear your gonna be in for a surprise.
