Epoxy Primer on inner fenders

Hey guys, just wondering if spraying 2 or 3 coats of epoxy primer inside a fiberglass fender would be enough protection against star cracks from rocks. I was going to use Gravitex plus but wondered if I should put a few coats of epoxy first or just not use Gravitex at all . What are your thoughts on that ?
 
I would do the epoxy and then still do a gravel guard coating over that for best protection from impacts.
 
Would the Gravitex adhere to the epoxy well enough ? Wait 48 hrs for the epoxy to dry before applying i would imagine.
 
Epoxy as your base is always the best plan, irregardless if you put something over it. It will make whatever you use over top adhere and work better.
