Epoxy re-coat window

So I need a little clarification on the re-coat window for SPI epoxy. The tech manual states after 7 days you need to sand and spray another coat but on the last page it states between 7 and 30 days just sand and apply primer?

One thing people forget is that these are meant to be 70 degree days. Anything over 3 days , I always sand anyway just to be sure. I would rather be over cautious than not. Most times it sits for a while anyways.

Thanks guys, since I am working the car by panels I will just wait to sand and spray another coat when everything has been coated with epoxy.

Ok, it has been about 3 months and finally able to get back to my car. I had primed it with epoxy and have sanded the whole car with 180 . My question is during the sanding I did get back to metal in places. They are along the body lines and some spots the size of a quarter. Do I scuff those bare spots with 80 grit before apply more epoxy?

Little spots like that are fine as 180.

It's the Chemical, another fresh coat or Mechanical (sanding) Bonding 'Thang.
What spi was saying is It's fine if you have enough epoxy coverage To sand, then primer it.
Some believe it Best to use a fresh coat of epoxy.
Some don't.
Question of debate around here .
What ever makes You feel comfortable.

Guys thanks for the quick reply’s. Mike you must have been reading my mind because my next question was why the need to re coat with epoxy. The car has plenty of epoxy on it other than the spots I mentioned.
