Filler over SPI epoxy

Is there an ideal time to apply a skim coat of filler over SPI epoxy? I may have misunderstood something in the past, but in my memory it's ok to apply filler over epoxy within 7 days without having to sand the epoxy? Is there a minimum time required for the epoxy to cure first? 24 hours maybe? Thanks, Bill

For 2 coats, 24 hours @ 70 degrees (surface temp) is the minimum for applying filler over epoxy. You then have up to 7 days to apply filler provided you have not set the car in the sun. UV light speeds up the cure.

Ok thanks. Yes it's two coats, sitting indoors at 70 degrees.

Personally, I like waiting 48-72 hrs. @ 70. Seems to be the perfect time, as the epoxy is dry enough that is does not "rip" off the metal when sanding the filler, but the filler still has great adhesion to the epoxy.
