Fixed a bad run

Had a few goof ups while painting my Camaro and Barry has thankfully walked me through fixing them. I messed this fender up the first time I sprayed it so this was on my flow coats. I really think a elephant sniezed on it lol.

I cut the runs part of the way down and let it sit for about 2 weeks to let everything settle down. Then cut the whole fender down with 600 ( still did not have the run gone yet ) and sat it in the sun for a day. Next day focused on the runs first. Got them mostly gone using a 1"x1" hard block with 400 wet. Then switched to 320 dry on a 5" durablock ( was not scared because I figured this was going to be a redo ) . Got it flat then went 400 wet pretty aggressively. Worked my way up to 2000 by hand over the whole fender then to 3000 trizact on a da. Came out like this.

Then broke out the buffer and used the complete presta system ( 3 steps using black wool for cutting, blue wool for polishing and foam for final polish) This is my first time doing this and I am blown away by the results.

Now if I can get rest to look like the fender I'm set on go.

Dion,
That job is just fantastic!!!
By the way I dry sand all my runs with 320 dry, no block, just two fingers at first until level and then my palm, them I go to finer grits to 1500 to buff.
It is whatever works for you, when painting.
Again, great job!

I love the trizac. I can go two steps on the compound/polish and done.
