Foggy looking area ?

I am using SPI dark red and universal clear . I painted white stripes on my Chevelle and I do not remember seeing anything wrong at that time. I sprayed clear on and I now see a area along the white stripes in a couple spots that look foggy. This is in the red where it meets the white stripes. It only comes out about 2 inches into the red . Is this in the base or the clear coat and how do I fix this without sanding the whole trunk and hood and starting over ? It was a hot and humid day and I have read that can cause the problem. I just do not know the best way to fix it, I have worked too hard on this project to just give up and leave it like it is. Thanks for any advice on this problem.

It comes out past where I had the tape when I sprayed the white stripes. It was hot and humid the day I sprayed the clear and I did put extra clear in that area to bury the stripes. I may have sprayed last coat before the first couple coats had a chance to really flash off . Any Idea how to solve this problem without starting over ? Thanks

Have you tried buffing it out? It might just be a bit of dieback, and that is not a problem if you are willing to polish it out.

if it was humid then i see 2 thing this could be. the clear blushed in that area. blushing is caused from the clear or base flashing too fast in a humid environment. the clear or base gets cold enough to form condensation in the film making it cloudy. this doesnt happen often and the conditions need to be right to do it but putting more clear in that area without alot of flash time can cause it. #2 it could be air entrapment. microfine airbubbles from spraying a thicker material too close to the panel with too fast an activator. you could probably see it if you look really close

if its blushing then its possible that will clear up over time. you need to let it sit out in the blazing summer sun for a couple days to see what happens.

Thanks for the replies , I will put it in the sun a couple days and try to polish it out. If that does not work at least I know it is in the clear so it will not be too bad sanding and shooting more clear.
