Garage painters, how do you control where your fresh air comes from?

i try to be smarter than the bugs, leave lights off with doors open at night for half an hour, shut door with lights off, then turn lights on. no lights directly over project (on sides), because that one bug always hits the light and drops right on my fresh clear and does a dance in it. there are a few really warm days that produce more bugs at night...i cant outsmart them and i just dont paint... is it my imagination or are bugs attracted to clear as well?

It seems to me that a few years ago Barry posted on some forum about the best times to spray based on bug actions. Only Barry would study the lives of Bugs in relation to painting. LOL

In he summer I will get my garage ready, and head out at 5am and shoot. minimal bugs then it seems. Done painting at 8, back to bed for an hour(weekend work)

From what I can remember about that thread... If you see the bugs out in the 1 am hour, they will be in at the 2 am hour.. Something like that.. They are out every other hour or something to that effect.. Have you ever noticed bugs are worse for a while, then they seem to fall off and then worse again?? I seem to remember paying attention to whatever it was Barry said and it proved out..

Again, my brain is sketchy on what exactly was said.. but I digress

BK.... You do allow Jim Clark in your neighborhood, so you really have bug problems. LOL

Lets take a flood light in your yard, a cold beer and tater chips will help to pass this exciting time, well a few beers.

All the bugs flying around that light is somewhere in the food chain, that is what the bugs are doing is eating, small nats to bigger bugs.
Bugs like us get tired and need to rest, so when one part of the food chain leaves to take a rest the chain is interrupted and other bugs leave, like clock work you will notice 90% of the bugs leave and they will come back in an hour or so.
That is when you paint.

Laugh, all you want but you can watch the cycle all night long.

You guys just wish your life was as exciting as mine!

Might need more than a few beers and chips to do that! LOL

Funny ... all the talk of bug problems in this thread, cause since I started using the Universal Clear I haven't had any problems with bugs.
But I have had major problems with other clears.... if the car was dark the bugs were light and vise versa ... almost like they planned it that way. LOL
