My father in law wants me to paint his golf cart. he is looking for a detroit tigers theme and wants it done cheeeeaaaappppp. You know how this goes. I have never done fiberglass before. What is the normal process? I was going to use spi epoxy as a base and then I think he is going to go with some cheap tractor supply paint. We are going to paint it dark blue with an orange accent stripe and white detroit tigers D's on the side.
Also the canopy appears to be made of some type of plastic. He wants it painted as well. I was going to scuff it with a grey scotch brite and some scuff stuff and clean it with spi 700 wgr. Does this wound right for plastic canopy. Also what grit should I prepare the fiberglass to before spraying the spi epoxy. Of course it will be cleaned with spi 700 before and after sanding. any advice would help. nothing fancy here just a shoot it job just never worked with fiberglass before.
